Today we are going to talk about home inspections and why you should have them and "WHO" should do them. It is of "popular" opinion that you need a general home inspector to do a home inspection. Popular meaning what or whom your Realtor refers you too. Many time the result is good and you come away with a home that you have many years of comfort and no problems. But the question comes up at times why did my HVAC unit go bad when I just had a home inspection, or why am I having problems with my electrical wiring when I just had a home inspection 2 months ago? Here may be the reason why--

Because your home inspector is not a licensed HVAC contractor or Electrician. If you really want to get you best inspection go with a individual who is the professional at the task at hand. Don't leave it to someone who has is or has a general knowledge of the operating systems of a home.

Now I am not bashing "Home Inspectors", some I know and use are and have been licensed contractor with great knowledge of a home and its construction from foundation to roof.
